By using the motion tracking feature in after effects you can create dynamic visual effects. This feature

can follow or track the movement of a specified area and then apply it to an effect or image. Here I am

going to put a text on the door in a scene of Vertigo where James Stewart steps in a buiding.

1. Import your footage into the project panel .

2. Click on your footage and drag it down over the Icon to make a new composition.

3. From the menu bar open Window > workspace > Motion Tracking ...

4.(green arrow) first click on Track Motion button,(blue arrows)and make sure Position and scale

are selected, (orange arrow)then from Track Type select Perspective corner pin .

5. Move the Time-indicator to the last frame. ...

6. Choose the selection tool and try to adjust the track points right on the window's corners.

7. Now click to backward button to analyze the Movement.

8.(orange arrow) twirl down the footage property to see the Motion Trackers keyframes .

9. For a fine result you have to adjust four corner nodes frame-by-frame.

10. From the Menu bar open New composition and name it "Text".(make sure the composition

setting is the same as your footage).

11.From the Menu bar select the text tool and enter the text.

12. Switch to your main time-line panel..

13. ... and drag the text composition into the time-line panel.

14. (orange arrow) select your Footage (green arrow) then click on the Edit Target button.

(blue arrow)Make sure text layer is selected.

15.click apply and test your movie.
